Diamond cut alloy wheel repair
The finish most repairers send away. We bring the lathe to you.
Diamond cut wheels have a machined face that can't be replicated with paint, the face has to be re-cut on a lathe. We run mobile diamond cut lathes, so the wheel is stripped, re-cut and lacquered at your address rather than being sent away for days.
Is this your damage?
- A bright, machined, almost mirrored wheel face
- Cloudy or milky patches under the lacquer
- Kerb damage cutting across the machined grooves
- Corrosion spreading from the wheel edge inward
How it usually happens
- Kerbing a machined wheel face
- Lacquer failure letting water under the cut face
- White corrosion blooming across the spokes
- Previous painted repairs that hid the machined finish
However it happened, we're not here to judge, just to put it right.
How we carry it out
- 01Strip
The old lacquer and any failed previous repair are removed from the face.
- 02Repair
Kerb damage is filled and shaped before the wheel goes on the lathe.
- 03Re-cut on the lathe
The face is skimmed on our mobile CNC lathe to restore the machined pattern.
- 04Lacquer
A fresh lacquer coat seals the bare aluminium against corrosion.
- 05Cure & refit
Cured, balanced and refitted to the correct torque setting.
Questions about diamond cut alloy repair
- What makes diamond cut different?
- The face is machined on a lathe rather than painted, giving a bright cut finish that only a lathe can restore.
- Do you really do this mobile?
- Yes, we run mobile diamond cut lathes, so the wheel is re-cut at your address rather than sent to a plant.
- How many times can a wheel be re-cut?
- Each cut removes a small amount of material, so most wheels take a limited number. We'll tell you where yours stands.
