What does SMART repair mean?

SMART stands for Small, Medium Area Repair Technology. We repair and blend the damaged area, which is why it's faster and costs less than a traditional bodyshop.

What sort of damage can you repair?

Bumper scuffs, paint scratches, key scratches, stone chips, small dents, kerbed and corroded alloy wheels, diamond cut wheel faces, and textured plastic trim. We also repair marine GRP and gelcoat, motorhomes and outboard cowlings.

What can't be repaired this way?

Structural damage, buckled or cracked wheels. We'll always tell you honestly when a bodyshop is the right answer.

Do you only work on cars?

No. We cover cars, vans, motorhomes, motorbikes, marine GRP and outboard covers.

How do I get a quote?

It depends on the week and where you are, but most customers are booked in within a few days. Vandalism and exposed bare metal we try to prioritise.

Not necessarily, as long as we have access to the vehicle and a safe place to work. We'll agree that when we book you in.

How long does a repair take?

Most cosmetic repairs take 1–3 hours on site. Alloy wheels are around an hour each, diamond cut around 1.5–2 hours each. Multi-panel jobs can take most of a day.

What do you need from me?

Somewhere off-road to park the vehicle, reasonable access around it, and ideally a standard socket for our equipment. We bring everything else.

Can you work in the rain?

Light drizzle is usually manageable because we work under cover, but heavy rain, high winds or near-freezing temperatures affect paint and lacquer. If conditions are poor we'll call ahead and rebook rather than compromise the finish.

Will the repair match my paint?

Yes. We mix to your vehicle's paint code, tint by eye against the panel, then blend the repair outward so there's no hard edge.

When can I wash the car afterwards?

Leave it a fortnight before machine polishing or a pressure wash close to the repair. Hand washing after a couple of days is fine. We'll go through aftercare before we leave.

What does the guarantee cover?

Our bodywork repairs carry a lifetime guarantee, covered for as long as you own the vehicle. If a repair we've carried out fails, we come back and put it right.

Yes, we're fully insured for mobile work at customer homes, workplaces and trade premises.

For a lot of cosmetic damage, the repair costs less than a typical excess and you keep your no-claims discount. Get our quote first and then decide.
