Scuffed, scraped or grazed bumpers are the most common repair we carry out. Because bumpers are plastic and flex, they rarely need replacing, the damaged area is prepared, filled where needed, colour matched and refinished so the repair disappears into the surrounding paint.

How we carry it out
- 01Assess & clean
The panel is degreased and the damage assessed for depth and any cracking.
- 02Prep
The scuffed area is flatted back and feathered, with filler applied only where the damage needs it.
- 03Colour match
Paint is mixed to your vehicle's paint code and tinted by eye against the panel.
- 04Paint & blend
Base coat is applied and blended into the surrounding panel so there's no hard edge.
- 05Lacquer & cure
Infrared cured lacquer, then polished back to a factory-standard finish.
Questions about bumper scuff repair
- Will you need to replace my bumper?
- Very rarely. Unless the bumper is split, torn or has failed mountings, a SMART repair restores it for a fraction of the cost of a replacement panel.
- Will the colour match?
- Yes. We mix to your vehicle's paint code and tint against the panel itself, then blend into the surrounding area so there's no visible join.
- Can you repair a cracked bumper?
- Small splits can often be plastic welded and refinished. Send us a photo and we'll tell you honestly whether it's repairable.
